However, if a higher velocity is desired, it's worth noting that the same ammunition can reach 2132 fps when fired from a PS90 BullPup, which has a longer barrel. Generally, a longer barrel allows the propellant gases more time to act on the projectile, resulting in higher muzzle velocity. For example, the civilian-legal FN PS90 has a 16-inch barrel and can achieve muzzle velocities of up to 2550 ft/s with SS195LF ammunition.
