I honestly don't think you will run into much issue Caleb. There are plenty of you tube video's with everything from slugs, buckshot and low brass birds hot and even the low brass cycled good. For peace of mind, all the major ammunition makers make high velocity bird shot loads in all common shot sizes. They are usually listed as Hi-Vel shot shells.
