Hi Chris, these will work fine after break in with the 940 (or they may work right out of the box) High-velocity shells, especially during the break-in period, is recommended for the Mossberg 940 to ensure reliability and proper functioning. After the break-in, it can cycle a variety of loads, including lower velocity options. They will cycle fine in the 990 Aftershock, no break in needed. Stay safe & have a great day!
Hi Chris and welcome. Yes, it'll cycle both high and low brass shells, but no mini's/shorties due to carrier design and not enough oomph from the 1 3/4" shells to cycle. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
