Hi Elizabeth and welcome. A pump action would be more reliable than a Semi-Auto. Just store semi-auto shotguns with the bolt locked back for best cycling reliability. With proper maintenance, rust is no issue. I store all my firearms in rust proof bags for ultimate protection: https://www.zerustproducts.com/products/firearms-ammo-weapons/vci-gun-storage-bags/?srsltid=AfmBOorqczMSV-FlpFW5pyo2V891efJFqAx40LsEYq8YA-6eVrDy9Wa5
Good evening to you!! A pump is always a better defensive shotgun. The Benelli M4 is the exception. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day. 🇺🇸🇺🇸 'merica' 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi Elizabeth, some of the best home defense shotguns include the Beretta 1301 Tactical and the Mossberg 500 ATI Tactical. The Beretta 1301 Tactical costs quite a bit more. The Maverick 88 is considered a good home defense shotgun due to its affordability, reliability, and ease of use, making it a popular choice for many. It offers solid stopping power and is designed to be durable and dependable in critical situations. If you don't want to or can't put out the $$$ for the Beretta 1301 Tactical, I would go with the Maverick 88. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/42605/maverick+88+security+12+ga+18.5+cylinder+bore+5+1 , It also comes in a 20 gauge youth model, not sure of your size, but if you aren't a big woman, this may work for you https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/84515/maverick+88+all+purpose+youth+black+20+gauge+shotgun , Stay safe & have a great day!
I'd go with the Mossberg instead of this one.
Get the mossberg!
