Hi Terrence, modern weapons have so many internal safety features that prevent the accidental discharge of the gun that you just put yourself at risk by not carrying hot. It's very common to carry a striker fired pistol with one in the chamber. Glock, Walther, etc all have this capability. No physical safety so to speak. Modern holsters help to ensure that a gun does not fire accidentally when carrying a pistol with one in the chamber. Plus firearm safety courses teach us to not put our finger on the trigger until we are ready to fire.
