in my experience yes grey on a glock is very dark basically black idk if i have ever seen a gray glock really factory new. If you get one that has the original blueing on slide which were made in Austria the only way on this website i know to tell is check where it says made in US or made in AUSTRIA on the website that will tell you what is on the slide.
I have a couple of all black Glock pistols (Gen 4s's) but the finish on the slide is slightly "off black". almost a very dark gray color. They were both made in Austria. On the other hand, my Glock 42 was made in the US (Georgia) with a FDE frame and an actual black slide. I know that Glock does make some frames that are intentionally gray, but I believe the the "off black" slide is the result of variations in the chemicals used to coat them. Overall, the fit and finish on the US made models is just a good or maybe a little better than the Austrian counterparts as the US manufacturing tooling and dies are newer and less used.
