Different barrels exist for the S&W Victory because, while the factory threaded barrel allows suppressor attachment, aftermarket barrels offer different lengths, weights, and materials to optimize performance, improve handling, and maintain a compact profile when suppressed. For instance, shorter barrels like the Tandemkross Comet keep the overall pistol length down, while others may offer increased accuracy or reduce weight.

Hi Bruce and welcome to the forum. Threaded barrels give you the option of adding suppressors, compensators and flash hiders. It gives you a path of future upgrades well beyond the standard non threaded barrel. The extra length also increases muzzle velocity for higher bullet energy as well, for more effective stopping power and less bullet drop from point of aim at longer distances. Hello Mr. Bruce, The reason for changing the barrel is that not all threaded barrels have the same length or profile, and some suppressors are designed for specific dimensions for optimal performance. Additionally, the existing barrel's thread pattern may not match the suppressor's requirements, or the suppressor's mounting system might need a particular thread type or length, which could necessitate a different barrel.
