Hi Richard and welcome. Charter has addressed the issue on recent models.250gr and up works fine in the Charter Arms Bulldogs. I prefer the 250gr through 360gr weights depending on use purpose. Cheers and stay safe!

For .45 Colt in a small revolver like the Bulldog, lighter loads (around 200-250 grains) tend to be more reliable in terms of ignition, especially if you're experiencing light strikes. Richard, try the following brand/types: Federal American Eagle or Federal Premium: Known for consistent ignition and reliable performance. Winchester Western or USA Ready: Often have good ignition qualities. Handloads: If you reload, using a load with a standard or slightly reduced powder charge and a reliable primer can improve ignition.
