Lower receivers are generally marked multi-caliber as they can accommodate whatever cartridge fits in the magazine they are designed to use. Barrels/upper receivers are definitely not however, and the cartridges are not interchangeable between them. 5.56 should not fit in a 300blk chamber in general, while 300blk can sometimes actually fit in a 5.56 chamber which presents a significant safety risk as the bullet is much too large to actually fire through the barrel. You should be able to switch upper receivers between the two lower receivers you have, but pay careful attention to only using the correct cartridge with the barrel that is intended for it.

Michael Sir, What "multi cal" means refers to the lower receiver only, the serialized part of the AR-style firearm that is legally considered the "gun". It is compatible with many different upper receivers. Not a hybrid chamber. "Multi cal" does not mean that you can put different ammunition through the same barrel. The barrel, which is part of the upper receiver, determines what ammunition can be fired. Because the AR platform is modular, a "multi cal" lower legally allows a user to switch between different upper receiver and barrel combinations, such as from 5.56/.223 to .300 Blackout. "Multi cal" simply means that the lower can be used on multiple calibers. The upper on it however, is specific to a certain caliber. Please don't shoot Anything other that the specified caliber.

Hi Michael and welcome. "Multi-cal" simply means that the lower receiver is "Universal" for use with several different caliber AR Uppers. Common options include cartridges derived from the 5.56/.223 case, such as .300 Blackout (7.62x35mm), 6.5 Grendel, and 7.62x39mm, as well as other specialized options like .450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM, and 50 Beowulf.
