the 17rnd magazines are illegal for ownership in CA, however would i still be able to ship this here, and surrender the magazines in the package to my FFL?

Hi Mark, No unfortunately Buds wouldn't even ship it if it isn't Ca Compliant. I've tried over and over again. You could have it shipped to arizona, pick up there and leave the magazines behind. Then when in Ca register into your name.

Not through Buds Mark. Their policy is that they will not open or alter firearm accessories. The firearm must be compliant as it comes from the manufacturer at Buds. This would help a lot of folks out but Buds won't budge on this.

Sorry Buds will not modify a gun Including Removing magazines it must be compliant from the factory as far as the advice to have it shipped to AZ it is against federal law to purchase a handgun across state lines (Has to shipped to a FFL in your home state) long guns you can
