Good Morning Mr. Dan, The Fiocchi 12SD18H8 shotshells have a muzzle velocity of 1,200 feet per second (fps). This is ammunition designed for target shooting, such as sporting clays and skeet. The maximum range for #8 lead shot is approximately 200 yards. However, the pellets will have little to no energy at that distance. At distances relevant for competitive target shooting (around 40 yards), the pattern of pellets is still effective and predictable.
