Hi Reade and welcome. Shorter barrel: The barrel on the compact models is typically 20 inches long, compared to the standard 22 inches. Shorter stock: The stock is also shortened, resulting in a reduced length of pull (LOP) of about 12 to 13.5 inches, making it a better fit for youth, women, and smaller-framed individuals. The compact design aims to improve comfort and accuracy for these specific shooters by allowing for a more comfortable shoulder position and a more natural reach. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
