Good evening to you!! You got to look at longevity of the mentioned firearms. The Ruger SP101 has been around much longer than the Kimber. This means more options for after market grips, holsters ect...I personally think the SP101 is a much better pistol. Just because it's been around long enough to work all the kinks out of it. Honestly I'd opt for the heavier gun, 357 is a potent round yo be using in such a short barrel already. I have a few kimber revolvers and they perform very well. Hope this helps. Stay safe!
