Good evening to you!! I know that the S&W Equalizer is an easy to rack pistol. Have you considered looking into maybe a revolver? I know you can only get a max capacity of 8 rounds but you don't have to worry about racking a slide to fix a jam in a fight. Just a suggestion. I hope this helps.
