A lot goes into this decision. Where are you hunting? Typical terrain, distance, etc.
30-30 win. It's been the go to for deer hunting for decades.
Hi Leonardo, The 30-30 Winchester is generally considered better for deer hunting due to its superior ballistic performance and penetration at longer ranges, making it effective up to 250 yards. The 450 Bushmaster, while powerful, is more suited for shorter distances and may not perform as well in terms of energy retention and accuracy beyond 150 yards. Stay safe & have a great day!
Good morning to you!! The 30-30 would be my choice mostly due to the availability of ammo. While the 450 is a very capable firearm inside 200 yards. Ammo is hard to find considering the newness of the round. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.
For deer hunting, the .450 Bushmaster offers superior short-to-medium range stopping power and energy, ideal for thick brush or straight-walled zones, while the .30-30 Win is a classic, lighter, faster-handling choice with more range and flatter trajectory for open woods, making the Bushmaster better for punch and the .30-30 for versatility/tradition, depending on your hunting style and terrain.
