Thicker than a regular barrel, thus heavier.
Hi Johnnell and welcome. A "Heavy Barrel" has a thicker material between the inside hole and outside diameter compared to the standard barrel. It's simply thicker, which makes it heavier than standard barrels.
Quite thicker than a regular barrel. Hence, improved accuracy.

In the world of AR-15s you can expect a heavy barrel to be about 1" in thickness. mid weight barrels may be .75" and light barrels just over .5" Heavies are designed for rigidity to keep harmonics dampened and the larger outside surface area helps the barrel cool better for longer life.
