the fin is added to make the gun legal in some states on a AR 15 style the fin will be removable you may have to replace the pistol grip if the fin is molded in as you did not list a specific firearm we cant tell you with 100% accuracy

Yes, some grips that have the fin can be removed but, in the case of a directly molded into the grip fin, you'd need to do a complete grip replacement.
