Yes you can add a picatiny rail on a Browning A Bolt. I have one myself. I personally prefer the Back Country mounts by Leupold. Just order the mounts from your preferred brand and select a long action Browning A bolt mount (for 30-06) Follow the torque recommendations and use a little blue loctite. The Xbolt mounts will not fit, as they have 8 holes rather than 4. Just be sure you order the correct specs. I put rails on everything these days. Much easier. Good luck.
