Most people choose 9mm due to its wide availability and lower cost. I prefer 10mm for personal defense.
9 > 45
It really depends on your personal preference. For a beginner a 9mm is probably a more sensible choice. Mainly because the recoil is more manageable and 9mm is much more available and affordable. 45 gets pricey to train with. Having said that I own both π
Hi Emmit , it is really a matter of choice .in my case i like 9 mm because ammo is a lot less expensive than 45 . Plus i am 70 years old so my wrist joints can't take the recoil from shooting a lot of 45 like i used to
Hi Emmitt and welcome. 9mm would edge the .45 out. Ton's more ammunition choices, less expensive, less recoil for better potential accuracy and follow up shots. Higher capacity in given platform sizes. The 9mm is much more common in the civilian, military and law enforcement arenas. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
Hi Emmitt, the 9mm is generally considered better for day-to-day shooting due to its higher magazine capacity, lower recoil, and ease of handling, making it more suitable for regular use. The .45 ACP, while powerful, has more recoil and typically holds fewer rounds, which can be a disadvantage for everyday shooting. Stay safe & have a great day!
Good afternoon to you!! The 9mm has edged out the .45 ACP as the carry firearm of choice nowadays. The 9mm has seen a lot to bullet redesign by ammunition manufacturers so they perform better than 9mm ammunition did 10 years ago. The surge of micro compacts chambered for 9mm is also a reason the 9mm is more popular than 45 ACP. 15-18 rounds of 9mm stocked with 135 grain Critical Duty ammunition vs 6-9 rounds of 230 grain Gold Dot ammunition wins every time. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day. πΊπΈπΊπΈ 'Merica' πΊπΈπΊπΈ
The nine millimeter wins hands down today. Due to ammunition selection and development of newer bullets make the nine millimeter the carry firearm of today. Plus fmj ammunition is much cheaper than the 45acp ball ammunition.
9mm is generally considered the superior choice for day-to-day shooting, self-defense, and concealed carry due to its higher capacity, lighter recoil, cheaper training costs, and modern bullet performance. While .45 ACP is highly respected for its historic stopping power, 9mm is widely preferred by modern shooters. 9mm: The Practical Standard Capacity: 9mm handguns typically hold more rounds (e.g., 15-17 in a duty gun). Recoil: Significantly lower felt recoil allows for faster, more accurate follow-up shots. Cost & Availability: Much cheaper and easier to find for high-volume training. Concealability: Smaller ammunition and thinner pistol options make it better for daily, discreet carrying. Performance: Advances in self-defense ammunition have narrowed the terminal performance gap, making 9mm highly effective.
