The Escort D12 (Optima D12) over and under shotgun is designed to use the Beretta/Benelli Mobilchoke system. While the OEM Escort chokes fit your Beretta, the tight fit of Beretta/Carlson chokes in the Escort is likely due to manufacturing tolerances in the Turkish-made Escort barrel threads. Key Considerations for Escort D12 Choke Fitment: Choke System: Escort D12 uses the 2-inch long, top-threaded Beretta/Benelli Mobilchokes. Tight Fit Issue: It is common for Turkish shotguns to have tighter tolerances, meaning while they take the same pattern as Beretta, the barrel threads may be cut slightly differently or tighter. Solution: Clean the Escort barrel threads thoroughly with a wire brush and gun cleaner to remove any shipping grease or metal shavings, then apply high-quality choke grease. The threads often "wear in" over the first 300–400 rounds. Risks: Do not force the chokes if they are extremely tight after the first turn. Ensure the choke sits flush against the shelf inside the b
Hi John and welcome. Interchanges with Carlson's Mobil style threads if threads are at the top of the choke (Flush choke is 2" long w/ threads at the top of the choke). It should use the same choke as the Hatsan Optima 12 ga: https://trulockchokes.com/choke_interchange_list.html ----------- Cheers and stay safe!
Hi John, apparently the chokes are very inconsistent. There is a V1, V2 and V3 variants depending on model years. Hatsan Escort doesn't really know which of their guns take which thread pattern, and they have admitted this. See if your factory choke is marked V1, V2, or V3.
