This model uses the series 70 system

Hi Jamie and welcome back. This model uses the original Colt Series 70 Firing System. Unlike later iterations, the Series 70 lacks an extra internal plunger and frame-mounted lifter to block the firing pin. This simplifies the mechanism and eliminates the extra linkage, resulting in a lighter and more predictable trigger break. Cheers and stay safe!

The Colt Gold Cup National Match 70 Series 9mm 5" features a blued carbon steel slide and frame. While the slide and receiver are blued, the 5-inch match-grade barrel itself is made of stainless steel.
