Hi Michael, unfortunately the $30 fee does not go towards the purchase price. As you said, it is a 'fee' to use the layaway program. 
Seems like Bud's is doing it's best to lose loyal customers.

Hi Michael and welcome. No. The $30 flat fee is now the cost of the layaway. Bud's is under "New Management" and have cut a lot of the perks we were used to including No Cash Discounts, Free Shipping for certain Ammunition and Accessories, Multi-Gun purchase discount and fee-based layaway.
