Hi Rega, this will work with both .22lr and .223/5.56, as they have nearly identical bullet diameters. The .22 LR uses a .223-inch-diameter bullet, while the .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO use a .224-inch-diameter bullet. Stay safe & have a great day!
