You can easily distinguish it from the newer Gen 3 version (which uses the SKU SAR9SPTG3BL) by a couple of key features:Gen 1 Sport: Optics Layout: This original Gen 1 Sport model does not have a factory-milled open optic cut with a cover plate. Instead, the slide is drilled and tapped for direct RMSc red dot mounting.Gen 3 Sport: The Gen 3 Upgrades: The newer Gen 3 Sport model comes with a dedicated factory-milled RMSc slide cut, updated styling, and upgraded tritium night sights straight out of the box.
