I just received these in the .460 flavor, they are a black colored copper projectile.
It could be a stock photo or more likely is the newer black copper like the winchester m22, it looks more like lead because it's black in color, but are supposed to keep the barrel cleaner.
It is a brass casing with a copper bullet, from the description. The photos are just stock photos and may not always represent the actual product. Hope that helps.

It's copper. Go to the link and zoom in on the end of the box and read the description.
These are actually awesome! They are frangibles and have much less chance of ricochet. The range should like you using them but I would check first.
