Hi Dale and welcome. Traditional cap and ball only. The Traditions Firearms 1858 Army .44 Blued Revolver uses black powder (or an approved black powder substitute), .44 caliber lead round balls or conical bullets, and #11 percussion caps for ignition. Because it is a traditional cap-and-ball black powder firearm, it does not use pre-made modern metallic cartridges. Instead, each chamber is loaded manually with powder, a wad or filler (optional), the lead ball, and capped with a #11 percussion cap on the nipple. Cheers and stay safe!
