If the receiver on the Mossberg 590 Shockwave and Mossberg 500 20 gauge are the same, a side saddle for the 500 should fit the 590, right? In need of serious assistance.

Yep. Both receivers have the same dimensions and attachment point for the side saddle Patrick.  Hence "500" Series accessory compatibility.
