I'll call if the tracking says it has been delivered or is out for delivery. I like being there the day it gets there. Doesn't hurt to call. Hope that helps!
Buds sends you a tracking # I call after it shows the package has arrived if they don't call me first
Agree with the other guys, I call during business hours once tracking shows it has been delivered.
Typically your FFL will have to get it checked in and processed, as they have paperwork to fill out as well when they receive your firearm. You should typically wait 24-48 hours if you haven't heard from them after the tracking number says it has been delivered. If it is a smaller shop, they will be more likely to process it quickly since they don't have the volume.
Calling the small shops after shipping shows "delivered" will expidite your being able to pick up. Having worked at a small shop for a number of years, I can attest to the fact that our guy would get it loaded as soon as he could but then he most often failed to let me know it was ready to go out so i could notify the buyer. Did you make sure that your local FFL had faxed or emailed a copy of his FFL ro the seller or FFL that was shipping it?
I always call prior to ordering to give them a heads up that it's coming and you are anxious. When tracking shows it's delivered, call them again and ask if you can come get it, leave a message if you have to. If you're like me, you're going to want to get to the range with it asap!
I always call them the day before or the day of the package arrival there. They don't seem like they need a heads up but I always go with a preferred FFL which helps a lot
