Does this cartridge work well with a Uberti 1873 45 Colt, lever action rifle. I've have heard from one source that it is too long and does not cycle properly with the flex tip?

It works fine with some guns not as well with others I suggest buying a box and trying before buying them in Bulk

Hi Robert, Most of the flex tip ammo won't work with this model. It makes the round a little too long to cycle like your friend stated.

Hornady's Flex Tips are a 325gr pointed bullet seated in a shortened case (shorter than a .45 Colt, longer than a .45 S&W) that is still a bit longer and may not feed properly in a length critical rifle such as the 1873. Since rifle specs and tolerances can vary rifle to rifle, you would have to test a box to verify function in your rifle.
