Yes, this is typical of the P238 Daniel. I don't know the purpose of this design, but the two I have handled were the exact same. My wife ultimately chose the S&W Body Guard.

another way to seat it easier is to push the eject button as you slide it in Them make sure that it latches when you release the button

Hi Daniel, I own both Sigs & Kimbers. The Kimber is much smoother to fit the magazine.
