Yes, I believe this is the newer version. I have 2 of the "older" versions. They are solid firearms. People just like to nitpick. The stamping on this model and the older version are different. I have a buddy in Texas who owns this exact rifle. Compared to mine, his looks newer. Mine are the Romanian WASR-10s from 1963/64. I'm not sure about the lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. I kinda doubt it. But it is an AK platform. These things are animals! But, they have moving parts. Even animals go down. Budsgunshop's warranty plan is good to have as a peace of mind. I had an issue with an inexpensive firearm and they fixed it. It would have been cheaper to fix it myself, but since I paid for the service I just sent it in. If the price is steep, put it on layaway.

its the newest version Buds warranty is a good deal for peace of mind Century warranty is one year "All Century Arms firearms/receivers sold as "new", have a (1) year repair/replacement warranty from date of first retail sale. Repairs or replacements are determined at Century Arms' discretion. The (1) year period does not start over if a firearm is repaired and reshipped"
This is the latest version according to UPC code Michael. For minimal cost I recommend Buds Lifetime Warranty : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/warranties.php
This is the latest version . Just make sure to do a thorough inspection before making the transfer. IF you are not satisfied, call Bud's customer service immediately before accepting. Century only offers a 1 year warranty on this rifle. It's up to you to decide if you want warranty from Bud's. There is no discount that I know of regarding this rifle. Good luck and enjoy if you decide to purchase it.
