Yes. In shotguns, you can always shoot shorter shells of the same gauge in the gun.

Yes this gun will shoot 2 3/4 inch shells and 3 inch shells as well. It wil not however shoot 3 1/2 inch shells. If your looking for a gun for 3 1/2 inch you will need something different, otherwise this shotgun is great ad will shoot both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. Hope this helps
