The stock slips over the buffer tube which has a set of holes/indentations that the stock's spring loaded pin fits into. This allows you to adjust the stock length to fit your arm length by moving the "stock" back and forth on the buffer tube. Most buffer tubes have 5 or 6 holes/indentations for this purpose. FYI: the buffer tube is crewed into the upper receiver and there is a locking nut that keeps it in place.

It is permanently fixed from the factory to comply with gun control measures in those States that limit an adjustable stock. There is no pin that can be pushed out. You will need a new carbine buffer tube, carbine spring, carbine buffer, castle nut, latch plate,as well as the stock.

This is actually not a CA compliant model so it this stock can be changed out like you normally would with an AR rifle. This has a buffer tube, buffer tube retention, etc. You are able to change this stock easily,

No. The pin permanently attaches the stock (buffer tube) to the lower receiver. It effectively limits your ability to change out or modify the stock.
