Buds will not give out the S/N but be confident that if you do get one that needs the upgrade Sig will take care of you

Gary, Most likely all of the guns that Bud's currently has in stock are the newer versions with the mod in place. I purchased mine about 9 months ago and just had Sig do the modification as mine was the original version. Sig paid for the shipping both ways, did the modifications, changed out the trigger and appears to have put a new barrel in it as well. Don't know why the new barrel as I had only shot about 300 rounds through it. It took 10 days from the time I dropped it off at the FedEx office until I got it back. In either case you will get either a modified one from Bud's or Sig will upgraded it for free.
