Sam, here's the link where you can read for yourself it's a chrome lined barrel, http://www.beretta.com/en-us/arx-100/ Just my opinion, but the best part of the barrel is that it's cold hammer forged giving it a longer life and accuracy. This is the semi version of the rifle used by the Italian military. The chrome lining will be excellent with Beretta quality. Hope this helps you.
