Doug, Ammo marked as 9mm, 9mm Luger and 9mm NATO will work fine in this Ruger. The manual owner's manual does not indicate that it can handle +P type-ammo. The 9mm Makarov will not fit this hand gun. Ammo labeled as 9mm NATO is slightly hotter than standard 9mm but will not be an issue for the Ruger. The only other difference in 9mm NATO over standard 9mm is the primer pocket has a seal that needs to be reamed out if you are reloading this ammo's brass. Otherwise it is fine right out of the box.
