A few things. Mag capacity less than 10, trigger pull of 10 pounds. I believe a couple other things, like drop safety and a loaded chamber indicator are required. But mainly the trigger. Hope that helps!
I am not aware of any trigger pull weight restrictions in Massachusetts, unless there is no external safety, which this pistol has. It has to go through the lab tests and then is approved. The SIG 320 Ma compliant has an external safety for this reason.
MA approved means the Attorney General has approved it based on a few criteria, including mag size, trigger pull, loaded chamber indicator, and more. A handgun could theoretically have all these items (think a Frankenstein build that some guy did in his garage) but still not be approved because the AG hasn't given their approval.
