Christopher, I have both an 80's DE and one purchased in 2017 and so far no issues. I have to admit my early 90's model is a 'Safe Queen" but I shoot the newer one with everything from Underwood, DoubleTap, Bufallo Bore to Wimp Target load and it is reliable and extremely accurate.
Its a 1911 so no handling issues I know the early ones had fram cracking from "full bore " 10 mm loads these issues have been corrected in the new delta elites but I would still reserve the use of super heavy 10mm loads like the Buffalo Bore to defense situations and not for a everyday diet
