Of the 2 I perfer the XD The FN 509 is a nice gun but it just does not feel right to me I suggest you see if a local range has them for ren so you can try or at least has them so you can handle them. I think that would help you decide. get the on that feels best to you and know that they are both Quality guns that should give you many years of service

The FN 509 feels more natural at least in my hands. I can't explain it but it just feels more natural and points quicker for me than the 9c. I think you will be more than satisfied with the 509.
