There are always less issues reported with the "Case Hardened" model due to higher durability Matthew. Technically this is marketed as a .357Magnum Lever and is CA legal. Simply don't load 11rds of 38Spcl being the "Law Abiding" Citizen you are. Felony is not worth 1 extra round of 38Spcl. (In all seriousness, It is CA legal but it will always depend on what the receiving FFL's mindset is) Buds will ship so just ask your FFLif they will receive/transfer to you.
