It is apparent that sturm Ruger never really got along with CA. All of these types of Ruger .22's dropped off the doj roster a few years back. CA was requiring the any pistol that was up for a renewal, to remain on the roster had to include microstamping. Ruger declined to incur the additional hefty costs of resubmitting those pistols for Testing and adhering to the microstamping. So as a result, the pistols were dropped from the list. I recall actually hearing a couple years ago the Ruger had no intentions of making any CA compliant pistols, kind of fed up with their regulations. But since, they have abided slightly, as some of their newer pistols are on there. However, this pistol has not been added back.
It's because California is populated with crazy people who allow other crazy people to control their lives.
