Hi Les, all firearms are test fired from the manufacture before they ship to any gun dealer..These are new firearms unless stated otherwise.

These are brand new from the factory. This is common with just factory testing to make sure they function properly. Hope that helps!

Les, As all the other folks stated firearms manufacturers normally test fire newly manufactured guns before they are boxed and leave the factory. This is done for two reason. First to insure the gun functions properly and secondly to "proof test" the chamber/barrel (make sure it can handle the pressure of an actual bullet). Gun manufacturers fire anywhere from one to three rounds to accomplish this. Aside from some burnt powder residue, if the build tolerances are really tight, it's not uncommon to have some visible wear marks like the ones you have observed in you new handgun, even from one round. I have bought several new handguns and rifles from Bud's and have always received a factory new product from them. I'm positive you received a new one too.
