Thanks for quick responses! Grips certainly may account for some weight. Both M66 and M627 are 7 shot, presumably using the same cylinder. Primarily a life-long 9mm and .45acp guy the .357 has become my favorite the last few years. I've run several thousand high velocity rounds per year. GP100 is built like a truck but now scoped. CCW size .357 just not designed for the punishment. Really like the Tracker but it needs to handle the pounding. Might have to be M66?

I would go with the M66 James. It will more likely than not be the best for what you need in a revolver. The M66 is built like a tank as well and will "Live" with high power loads comfortably.

being 100% honest I would buy another Ruger GP 100 or start looking on the Used market for a Dan Wesson model 15-2 (the best .357 ever built) of the 2 Taurus the 66 would last the longest
