Hi Kellen, since it is etched with 7.62 and not 308 as well, I would stick with 7.62 but I would contact the manufacturer and ask them if 308 is ok or not through the rifle. Then go from there as they maintain your warranty and will advise you best.
If it says 7.62 then the rifle is chambered for 7.62 and you may experience catastrophic case separations with 308 ammo. Stick with 7.62 until you can have a gunsmith check the head space and determine if 308 will work safely.
If its marked 7.62 stay away from .308 and contact the manufacturer to verify if you can use .308. You can also repost here giving us the make and model and we can give you a better answer
