The 40 mags will work. They may not control the last round every time though.

You need Glock 17 magazines since the Glock 19 magazines would be too short.
You may also want to swap out the extractor as there may be extraction issues with the conversion to 9mm.
There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to do an extractor swap.
The cost of the 9mm extractor is minimal.
