I am getting ready to purchase the Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm and torn between the Valkyrie in 9mm? I like them both but I would like to have if for a carry gun! Also how does it compare to the Sig ultra compact carry and is it worth the jump in price to go Dan Wesson?! I value your opinions!

Alton, the Sig UCC is a fine firearm in and of itself but, you will notice the "Hand Fitted" feel of either Dan Wesson immediately upon handling and firing. My opinion is that the "Guardian" is the better value.  The extra cost of the Valkyrie is in the aesthetics (ball cuts, carry cuts, recessed (beveled/countersunk) slide stop hole). That is what you are paying for. Do you want or need the extra stuff?? That's up to you. I like the 3 dot sights better on the Guardian. But, I also like the checkering and grips better on the Valkyrie. Don't need the officer frame. If you are on a stiff budget, the Guardian fits the bill, unless you don't like Bobtails.

a few thoughts on this 1st I carry a officer size 1911 between the valkrie and the guardian I would go with the Guardian because of the bobtail (makes for a nicer concealed carry gun) It would be a good carry gun but the Dan Wesson guns are in a different class than the sigs. The sigs are a production class and The dan wessons and STI guns are a class somewhere between the full top of the line custom 1911s (Wilson, les baer  and nighthawk). Get the Dan wesson Guardian and I am sure you will be happy with it

Hi Alton, Tough choice both are such great firearms. I'd have to go with the Guardian myself though too. It's hard to find a better firearm.
