Just picked up a 92FS INOX got it home and noticed an odd cut on top of the slide.

I also noted that Beretta, http://www.beretta.com/en-us/92-fs-inox/ show the same "cut" in pictures of the #7 Open Slide Design and #8 Red Loaded Chamber Indicator.

My question to you folks familiar with the 92FS. Is this a defect or feature of the firearm?

No it is not a defect Doug. This is how the Inox comes. I own the same as well as a 92FS

Its normal on the 92fs nothing to worry about

Hello, Yes these cuts are Normal on the slide. It just helps to eject the brass
