Rhett, the FNX Tactical wins the "Trigger" aspect hands down. Is it twice as good as the S&W M&P 45 M2.0 (Since the price is twice as much), absolutely not. A pistol should come with most if not all you need/seek from the factory in my opinion. These two are 2 different animals competing in the same arena and I believe the FNX is your next pistol if price is not a big factor. What you will need to do to the M&P to get to where the FNX is at already will add cost (emphasis on already at).
I am a 1911 person and I don't like the FNX triggers no real reason they just don't feel right the S&W trigger is ok to me I suggest seeing if you can find somewhere that has them as rentals and try them
I don't care for the trigger myself on my FNX. I'd look more into a Springfield if you want a great trigger.
