Just got my M&P 40 from Buds but if the slide is racked open it won't move forward without pressing the slide stop. Racking the slide won't move forward.

Hi Kebie, that is normal operation with the magazine inserted. Try racking the slide with the magazine removed. You may be experiencing the "Last round hold open" when the magazine is empty of bullets.
