From what the webpage shows, it looks like the 22900 comes without a forward assist and with only a mil spec trigger. The 22899 has the forward assist and I am guessing the Blaze Blackhawk trigger although the webpage does not really explain. Everywhere I have looked has the 22900 selling for more than the 22899, some by 100 dollars more. Why would the model with less features be selling for more? Is there something that I am missing here? I have looked at them side by side.

The differences you site are correct. MSRP is $868 for the 22899 and $853 for the 22900. Only $15.00 difference. Must be a difference in demand that is driving the prices otherwise.

Hi derrick according to savage website the 22899 has the forward assist and millspec enhanced trigger.  The 22900 does not have the forward assist and the mill spec trigger.   As far as the pricing goes the 22899 is the way to go . Some people prefer not to have the feature of the forward assist or they my customize the rifle themselves and put in their own trigger system.
